Tea shops, boutiques and book shops provide an oasis around the Buderim Marketplace, far from the busy tourist strip down below at the base of Buderim Mountain. The views over the Sunshine Coast from a number of the restaurants in Buderim are quite breathtaking. Buderim is home to a number of retirement villages, where residents enjoy the fresh mountain air and cafe society that defines Buderim. Buderim is one of the few villages that boasts its own well tended croquet green in the centre of town – where games are fiercely fought before retiring for tea in one of the nearby tea rooms. Buderim is also known for its many art and craft galleries and is home to a thriving artistic community and hosts many fine arts exhibitions. Buderim’s Pioneer Cottage built in 1876 is a link to the pioneering past, housing artefacts from the early days in the Sunshine Coast.
