The oxidation of acid sulfate in the soils stips the iron from the soil producing Sulfuric Acid. This iron then turns a rusty red staining vegitation, rocks and soil with an iron oxide scum known as Floc. This can smother wildlife and cause diseases on fish known as Red Spot. The white patches are dry salt. Categories, Earths Artwork, Green 1, Miscellaneous, Mountains, Other Keywords, Red 3.
