Hole in the Wall, in between Guluwuru and Raragala Island, is also known as the Gugari Rip. This notorious narrow passage in the Wessell Islands has rocky shores, the slabs of rock remnant of when the two islands ripped in half to create this natural beauty and safe path through the channel. The seas can get quite confused and rough, especially if there are easterly winds, as the best time to enter is during the first hour of the ebb tide when the tide floods east.
