South Newt Island is part of the Lizard Island Group & the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. It has a deep blue lagoon, well loved by snorkelers and divers for its fringing reef, thriving coral, turtle and dugong sightings. Sandy beaches, towering headlands and rocky escarpments are alive with a variety of mainland and marine wildlife including dwarf open heath on its dunes, and ephemeral herbs on rock. Brilliant sky-high pics are often hard to search for. That's why AeroStock has compiled a huge library of millions of shots taken of QLD and all over Australia. This 2021 panoramic aerial photo from the sky the Cook region shows Lizard from an altitude of 152 meters.
