These great photographs of Archerfield display the Archerfield Airport, the general aviation airstrip for Queensland. Only eleven kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, Archerfield is close to such fascinating local destinations as Moreton, Stradbroke and Fraser Islands. Archerfield is the preferred airfield for charter, training and corporate flights. The aerodrome has two parallel sealed runways with full length taxiways all equipped with pilot activated lights to help night time flights. There is hangar space for corporate aircraft on the western side of the airfield. Set on Beatty Road, it is easily accessed from the Ipswich Motorway. The airfield is home to many aviation services such as Flight Training Services and Aircraft Radio. Queensland’s foremost flying school, the Royal Queensland Aero Club, is based here and offers training for both domestic and international students. The car enthusiasts are not left out in Archerfield as the International Speedway also has its home here. They have a series of rounds for sprint cars on Saturdays with crazy rollovers and midgets also on the program. Just off Beatty Road, the Speedway is a must do for the local fans. The suburb of Archerfield is a field of green trees, with much to offer. There are some great dining options with specialty shops on Beaudesert Road. Nearby Acacia Ridge has some good quality shopping precincts and the locals grab the freshest fruit and vegetable with low prices at the local Rocklea Markets.
