Point Arkwright on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland is a high rocky promontory overlooking Coolum to the North and Yaroomba to the south. Yaroomba Beach is a secluded unpatrolled beach, not recommended for swimming. Snorkelling around the reefs at Point Arkwright is challenging due to changing currents and generally strong waves. To the north Coolum provides great surfing and restaurants as well as championship golf courses at the Hyatt Regency Coolum, Novotel Twin Waters and Pelican Waters. Point Arkwright is a popular whale watching destination during the annual humpback whale migration from June to November.
