Greenslopes is an older suburb of Brisbane, located 5 kilometres from the Central Business District. Greenslopes is best known for the Greenslopes Private Hospital, which was established in 1942 for injured soldiers returning home after the war. It is still a major hospital catering for veterans and their families from across Queensland. Buses also stop at the Greenslopes stop of the South East Busway. Greenslopes has a wide range of motel accommodation due to its close proximity to both Greenslopes Private Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital located in Annerley. Nearby suburbs of Fairfield, Woolloongabba, South Brisbane and Stones Corner all provide excellent shopping and restaurant experiences.
