Greenslopes is an older suburb of Brisbane, located 5 kilometres from the Central Business District. Greenslopes is best known for the Greenslopes Private Hospital, which was established in 1942 for injured soldiers returning home after the war. It is still a major hospital catering for veterans and their families from across Queensland. Ekibin Park includes a number of soccer fields which have lights installed for night games and practice. Ekibin Park also has a number of running and walking tracks woven throughout it. Greenslopes is located in close proximity to Woolloongabba and the Brisbane Cricket Ground, and is easily accessed by the South East Freeway and Pacific Motorway. Buses also stop at the Greenslopes stop of the South East Busway. Greenslopes has a wide range of motel accommodation due to its close proximity to both Greenslopes Private Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital located in Annerley. Nearby suburbs of Fairfield, Woolloongabba, South Brisbane and Stones Corner all provide excellent shopping and restaurant experiences.
